Well friends, it’s been almost a year and a half in the works, but now it is finally time to close a really beautiful chapter of my photography career, and to announce the launch of Kinfolk Photography.
I started White Leaf Photographs in 2009 providing professional wedding and portrait photography to the Jasper, Alberta area. I had the vision of living life on my own terms, making a living of making art, while living in the mountains, telling these important stories through photos. I’ve had the honour of documenting hundreds of people’s stories now, and it is a gift I’m so grateful for. This gift is a big part of what has driven me to continue developing my craft as a photographer and artist, and my offerings as a business. As such, after 12 wonderful years, I am excited, and a little emotional about letting go of White Leaf Photographs. It is time to allow something new to grow.
Kinfolk Photographers - Brian and Ash
In fact, new things have already been growing. Ashley and I got married on the fall equinox of 2021, and now we have officially merged our talents into a new business. We have worked together in various capacities for 7 or 8 years now, as many of you know, through White Leaf Photographs and Ashley Kennedy Photography. We are very excited to introduce Kinfolk Photography.

I am so grateful to all of the clients and their families who have so deeply valued what I do. I’ve learned a lot along the way about life, family, business, and what is important to me. I’m grateful that mine and Ashley’s experience has been able to inform the development of our new business to be more aligned with our own values, as well as to improve the experience of having photos done in the mountains for our clients. Thank you all for following along with White Leaf over the years, and I hope you stick around to to see what Ash and I create together.
